Admittedly, I became obsessed with this image of the great and weird Salvador Dali. I so loved this photograph that I recreated it in acrylic paint and some mixed media collage work for those fabulous blacks in that extraordinary mustache. I did 8 pieces in this series in which this is one. Some conservative representations and some reflecting the way I saw him in my pop art dreams. Pick your favorite. HAVE Fun! He did. Salvador Dali was born on May 11, 1904, in Figueres, Spain. From an early age, Dali was encouraged to practice his art and would eventually go on to study at an academy in Madrid. In the 1920s, he went to Paris and began interacting with artists such as Picasso, Magritte, which led to Dali's first Surrealist phase.
